- News Page Designer, a site where individuals can upload pages and get feedback from other designers. It's operated by SND members Tim Frank and Eric Kaiser.
- Tools for news, Chris Amico's site for sharing cool stuff.

- Visual Journalism, a discussion group operated by Poynter Institute.
- Journalist's Toolbox, a list of resources compiled by the American Press Institute
- AIGA, the professional association for design, says it is "committed to furthering excellence in design as a broadly-defined discipline, strategic tool for business and cultural force."
- TAGA, the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts, describes itself as the only global professional technical association for the graphic arts industries.
- Visualeditors.com is a message board operated by SND member Robb Montgomery
- Newsdesigner.com, a Weblog by SND member Mark Friesen, news designer at The Oregonian in Portland, Oregon.
